dia de los muertos 9-the cemetery visit
mixed media on wood-acrylic paint, metallic paint, collaged paper, stamps, sharpie pen
24" X 12"
inspired by my trip to mexico city and san miguel de allende october-november 2017
this holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died, and help support their spiritual journey.
traditions connected with the holiday include building private altars, honoring the deceased using marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed, and visiting graves with these as gifts. family and friends also leave possessions of the deceased at the graves.
