i had this "garden trellis" in my garden for several years. and yes, the "objects" were attached (i have a strange garden!). when i felt the trellis was sufficiently "weathered" i brought it in and "made art"! i usually put objects in my garden to weather them. i like the "look".
of course the "back" painting was not weathered in my garden. i painted it and attached the trellis to it.
The "tortured" doll and parts placed on the trellis has a very crucifixion feel to it. Blended with the other elements I find illuminating women and the ongoing world-wide struggle for equality and freedom from sexual discrimmination, cultural and faith-based (religious) sexism. Feminism vs martyrdom... It makes me think of lots of women's issues with the rose-colored glasses suddenly stripped away. Provocative and powerful!!
Excellent and creative work!
This is great!!!!! I really like all the elements and the colors.
I agree the colors are fabulous! Fantastic!
Jennifer Mega-cool! A great work! Nice garden variety of colors, but nothing 'garden variety' about it!
Jennifer I love this , it has a history to it being part of your own garden that is so cool! Those colors are warm and gorgeous.
Very beautiful work --I love the details and colors! Great imagination!
Amazing stuff.
Your artworld is really fascinating !!!!
AHHHH Great job my friend!
this is amazing..some of the best work I've seen!
I love your use of the doll, there is always something strange, and Voodooish about them.
The contrast of beauty, painted faces in background, compared to that wild eyed doll.....freaky but you made it work.
your vision is unique, potent and thought provoking
